eNPS

Process for measuring employee satisfaction.

What is eNPS?

How do we calculate eNPS?

How often is the eNPS question sent?

How to use the promoters, passives & detractors groups in Nailted?

eNPS is a scoring system designed to help employers measure how likely their employees are to recommend their workplace to their friends and colleagues.

The formula to calculate eNPS is as follows:

The eNPS formula does not reflect reality in long periods of time, as it provides lower results than would be expected after looking at the eNPS evolution month by month. To fix the issue, Nailted has worked alongside companies to offer a more relevant result.

How does Nailted calculate eNPS in long periods of time?

Nailted groups people’s NPS participation by month by calculating the total number of promoters, detractors and passives and then obtaining the total eNPS. Here’s an example on how this calculation works:

Acme is a company with 100 employees and they want to calculate the eNPS for Q1.

In January, 50/100 people have participated with these numbers:

Detractors = 10 Passives = 20 Promoters = 20

In February, 80/100 people got these numbers:

Detractors = 30 Passives = 20 Promoters = 20

In March, 70/100 people got these numbers:

Detractors = 10 Passives = 0 Promoters = 60

Jan Feb Mar Total
Total participants 50 80 70 200
Detractors 10 30 10 50
Passives 20 20 0 40
Promoters 20 30 60 110

We apply the formula over the data month by month and we get the results.

eNPS = (20 +30 + 60) - (10+30+10)

—--------------------------------- x 100

200

This new formula offers a more accurate eNPS for employee satisfaction aligned with their monthly evolution.

Acme has 100 employees, how would they have 110 promoters?

Each person can participate 3 times (i.e. they could be a promoter 3 times).

If each person participated once every month, the total of the company would be 300 results (100 people x 3 months) which leaves 110 promoters out of 300.

What happens if one employee participates on eNPS several times in one month?

The norm would be each person would answer the eNPS survey once a month. However, the system is programmed so that if someone answers several times in one month, their answers will be grouped together to obtain one result for that month.
